Park Dreams
This particular series of Park Dreams studies is concentrated on the area between Kettenbrückengasse and Landparteienplatz, where the weekly Viennese flea market takes place every Saturday. The remaining six days of the week this place is available as a car parking lot. According to a census commissioned by the district in 2015, the occupancy rate of the parking lot is about 50%, which can be interpreted to mean that only half of the Landparteienplatz is used as a parking lot. This raises numerous questions in the context of urban life and how we deal with urban space.
We all know special places, those that are still close to us even long after experiencing them, we see these places in front of us, we remember these places, so these places and everything we associate with them come back to life. They are places where everything is right, which create in us an idea of perfection. Often, we find these places in nature, but we also encounter them in the urban environment, even in places that make these qualities least expected. Perfection here does not stand for perfection or exclusivity, but for something that we feel is right for all of us.
